Joseph F. Gibbons Sr.

June 24, 1942 - January 17, 2022

Joseph F. Gibbons Sr., 79, of Magnolia, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022, at Samaritan Center in Voorhees, NJ. He was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1942 to the late Walter Joseph and Florence Mary (Hopkins) Gibbons. He resided in Pennsauken and Atco before moving to Magnolia in 2005. Joe was a bookbinder until he retired at 55 years old. Then he went on to work at Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Berlin, NJ, and later at the home office in Pennsauken, where he met many longtime friends. He was also a captain of the Pennsauken Fire Department. He loved to travel internationally, scratch his lottery tickets and watch his beloved Eagles and college football. Joe was married to the love of his life, Joanna Elizabeth (Schmidt) Gibbons for almost 50 years when she passed in 2013. Besides his wife Joanna, he was predeceased by his sister; Florence Dixon. Surviving are his sons; Joseph F. Gibbons, Jr. and his partner; Audrey Fish, Bill Young, and his wife; Lori, Doug Young, and his wife; Carol and Raymond Young and his wife; Lisa, his siblings; Walter Gibbons, Marion Young, and Patricia Matthews, his grandchildren; Meghan, Sadie, Tiffany, Daniel, Ryan, Matthew, Jennifer and Sienna, his great-grandchild; Silas, Weston, Everette, as well as, many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A visitation will be Tuesday, January 25, 2022, from 9:00 am - 11:00 am at Inglesby Funeral Home, 2426 Cove Rd., Pennsauken, NJ 08109. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Cinnaminson, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joe's honor to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org
